The latest report in the National Longitudinal Study of Children (Growing Up in Ireland) published today, focuses on the effect of parental stress and depression on child development.Among the findings of this particular report was that maternal stress was strongly associated with difficult temperament in a child.
The report, based on the study since 2006 of 11,000 children from the age of nine months, highlights the role of parenting and family contexts in child development.
