Mountjoy Square Library Closes its Doors for the Last Time

The library will close on Thursday the 31st of July in preparation for the move to Grangegorman. We will then be closed for the month of August and re-open on the 1st of September as the new library at Grangegorman.

Students have been allowed to borrow 10/15 books (undergraduate/postgraduate) from the 1st of July until the 31st of July. These books are not due to be returned until the 8th of September.
Anyone who wants to return a Mountjoy Square/Grangegorman book while we are closed can return it to any of the other DIT libraries.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and students that have passed through our doors over the last 27 years.
We look forward to welcoming new and existing staff and students into our new library on the 1st floor of Rathdown house on the 1st of September.

If you have any queries/questions about how the closure might effect you please email the library at
grg.library@dit.ie

Don't forget that our new website www.dit.ie/library/sites/grangegorman goes live on the 1st of August.

The problem with accessing EBSCO databases from outside DIT has now been fixed and all issues have been resolved.
If you are still finding problems accessing the relevant databases please contact the library on mjs.library@dit.ie or phone 01 4024108.

Off Campus access to EBSCO Databases

There is currently a problem with access to any EBSCO databases (Academic Search Complete, Art and Architecture Complete, Art Full-Text, PsycInfo, and SocIndex with full-text) when users are off campus.
As a temporary work around students should:

  1. go to http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&AuthType=shib
  2. Select Irish Edugate Federation from the list
  3. Select Dublin Institute of Technology
  4. You will then be asked for your DIT email username and password (student no. and date of birth)
  5. Then hit the Confirm button
  6. You will now be able to search the database as normal
If students have any issues please contact the library on mjs.library@dit.ie or call us on 4024108

Access while on campus is not affected.
EBSCO are working to fix the problem.
