Off Campus access to EBSCO Databases

There is currently a problem with access to any EBSCO databases (Academic Search Complete, Art and Architecture Complete, Art Full-Text, PsycInfo, and SocIndex with full-text) when users are off campus.
As a temporary work around students should:

  1. go to http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&AuthType=shib
  2. Select Irish Edugate Federation from the list
  3. Select Dublin Institute of Technology
  4. You will then be asked for your DIT email username and password (student no. and date of birth)
  5. Then hit the Confirm button
  6. You will now be able to search the database as normal
If students have any issues please contact the library on mjs.library@dit.ie or call us on 4024108

Access while on campus is not affected.
EBSCO are working to fix the problem.

Top Ten E-books downloaded last month

E-books are becoming more and more popular with DIT students and staff. Mountjoy Square alone has nearly 100 e-books with subjects ranging from Ageing, to Brand Identity, to Parenting, and Image Studies. Below are the top ten downloaded e-books in March. Don't forget to check the catalogue to see if the book that you are looking for is available as an e-book. The usual title search will bring up print and e-books so there is no excuse for not being able to access them!

Don't forget, you will need your student/staff number and a library PIN to access the electronic resources when outside DIT.
